Procedural Generation

Description

Procedural Generation is used as opposed to procedural content generation on this wiki to indicate where procedural techniques are used in games which do not affect the game play in any measurable way. Examples include the use of procedural textures and animation.

Procedural generation is used in a number of games, such as .kkrieger to massively decrease the total size of the game executable, a technique coming out of the demo scene.

While many techniques are common to both procedural generation and procedural content generation, the emphasis on this wiki is on PCG rather than little 'p' procedural generation.
